A Cartersville man faces felony aggravated assault and aggravated stalking charges after authorities accused him of firing into an Acworth-area home while several children were inside, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Taconda Lashad Bush, 50. Deputies arrested him Thursday with help from the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office. At the time of the report, he was being held without bond at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center.
The investigation began when deputies answered a property-damage call Tuesday on McCollum Way in unincorporated Cherokee County. Residents reported hearing gunfire, and deputies found bullet holes in the house. Authorities said no one was injured.
Detectives said neighborhood surveillance recordings, license plate readers and witness interviews helped them identify Bush. They suspect a connection to an earlier workplace dispute that led to a permanent protective order against him last year, though officials did not disclose details of that dispute.
Authorities are also examining whether Bush was involved in a separate shooting reported at the same home on Sept. 27; they have not established his involvement. Deputies said additional charges were pending. FOX 5 attributed its reporting to a sheriff’s office news release.
