Shootings at Spirit Halloween stores in California and Michigan killed two people on Friday, Oct. 30, authorities said. The company told CBS News on Saturday that both locations would remain closed for the rest of the season.

In Fairfield, California, gunfire inside the store at Solano Town Center killed Constance Hages, 31, and wounded six others. Fairfield police said Saturday that preliminary evidence pointed to a targeted shooting involving one suspect inside the store. Detectives were still working to identify the shooter.

Police listed three wounded males, ages 16, 19 and 32, in critical condition. A fourth, a 23-year-old man, was hospitalized in critical but stable condition. Two other men, ages 19 and 43, were treated for gunshot wounds and released.

Relatives told detectives that Hages was pregnant. Police said they were awaiting an examination by the Solano County Coroner to confirm that information.

In Madison Heights, Michigan, a 21-year-old man was killed late Friday afternoon. Police said he and the suspected shooter, also 21, knew each other and had an altercation before the suspect shot him multiple times.

CBS News Detroit reported that members of the victim’s family assaulted the suspected shooter, who was hospitalized with injuries.
